I am aware of reports in the Jewish News about a Labour Party member from Walsall making Anti Semitic comments at the Labour Party Conference. An investigation is rightly taking place to establish the facts.

However, if true then I am totally shocked and horrified at the remarks. I unreservedly and totally condemn such abhorrent statements and beliefs. Members of our Jewish community should know that this is NOT reflective of Walsall Labour and that we stand in solidarity with them.

There is no place at all in Walsall Labour for Anti Semitic, Islamophobic or Racist views.

The reported remarks are not representative of Labour Party members in Walsall and as the leader of Walsall Labour Group I dissociate our group and the wider Labour membership in Walsall from these views, beliefs and comments.

Walsall Labour will always be a welcoming place for all people irrespective of their religious background.  I and the Labour Group welcome and value all members, from all backgrounds and will continue to do so.
